Refuse derived fuel (RDF) produced by the Jakarta Provincial Government at TPST Bantargebang, Bekasi, has begun to be sold. Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono said the RDF price offered is 24 US dollars or equivalent to Rp 360,000 per tonne. ‘We have a limit of 24 US dollars. That’s the lowest, the price can’t be any lower,’ Heru told reporters at Bantargebang TPST, Tuesday (27/6/2023). This amount is still far from the needs of two companies that have become RDF buyers from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, namely PT Indocement Tunggal Perkasa Tbk and PT Solusi Bangunan Indonesia. ‘PT Indocement and PT SPI need 2,500 tonnes per day. We can only handle 700 tonnes per day,’ said Heru. The revenue from the sale will be used to add and maintain RDF plant production equipment at TPST Bantargebang.

‘This income can be used to increase investment again, this income can be used to add or maintain the RDF location,’ he concluded. Approximately 80 tonnes of RDF or alternative fuel from solid waste sorting are distributed to two ordering companies. For Heru, the start of RDF shipments to the two companies shows DKI Jakarta’s success in managing waste into alternative fuels. At the same time, Heru reminded the ranks of the Jakarta Environmental Agency to maintain the quality of RDF sold to consumers. ‘Keep maintaining the quality so that the RDF results are maintained, and in accordance with the requirements requested by consumers,’ said Heru Budi.
