The Chairman of the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI), Lilik Unggul Raharjo, accompanied the Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia on a visit to the Solusi Bangun Indonesia (SBI) Narogong Plant, part of the Semen Indonesia Group (SIG), on 23 June 2025, as part of a series of working visits on the green industry agenda. The visit aimed to observe firsthand the implementation of green industry practices at the SBI Narogong Plant, including post-mining reclamation efforts, the use of renewable energy sources such as solar panels, and innovative waste management practices aligned with sustainable mining principles.
In his capacity as ASI Chairman, he expressed appreciation for SBI’s commitment to sustainability-based operations. Furthermore, he stated that this visit marks an important milestone in accelerating the adoption of green industry practices across the national cement industry, particularly in areas such as decarbonisation, energy efficiency, and environmental innovation.
The ASI Chair also expressed his appreciation to the management of SIG and SBI for their full support in ensuring the smooth running of the visit. The presence of the Deputy Minister was seen as additional motivation for all players in the Indonesian cement industry to strengthen the sustainable environment agenda.
The Chairman of ASI expressed gratitude for the visit and attention given, and emphasised his hope that collaboration between the government, associations, and industry will continue to strengthen efforts toward a greener and more environmentally conscious future for the cement industry.
