The Chairman of the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI), Lilik Unggul Raharjo, had the opportunity to attend the Cementrade Summit held on 23–24 July 2025 in Bali, Indonesia. This event serves as a strategic forum bringing together stakeholders from the cement industry across Asia to discuss common challenges, current trends, and transformative efforts toward a more sustainable industry.
During the event, the ASI Chairman delivered a presentation titled ‘Decarbonisation Initiatives of the Cement Industry in Indonesia,’ outlining the national cement industry’s commitment and concrete steps toward reducing carbon emissions. These include the use of alternative fuels, reducing clinker ratios, and preparing for increasingly stringent carbon regulations.
ASI’s participation in this forum underscores the importance of cross-border collaboration in strengthening innovation, policy harmonisation, and sustainable development in the construction sector. Decarbonisation is not merely a national agenda but a shared responsibility for a resilient and environmentally friendly future for the region.
The ASI Chair thanked the Cement Manufacturers Association of the Philippines for its warm welcome, as well as all participants for their open dialogue and commitment to mutual progress. ASI also expressed its appreciation for Cementrade’s cooperation in collaborating with ASI to make this event a success.
